About Audio Cutter

Cut the part of a song or recording you want, add a gentle fade in or out, and save it in the same format, as MP3, or as an iPhone ringtone (M4R). Works in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

How Audio Cutter works

Audio Cutter keeps the part of an audio file between the start and end you set, cut precisely to the time you choose. A fade in or fade out of up to two seconds can be added, which makes ringtones and clips start and end smoothly.

The cut is saved in the same format as the original when possible (otherwise as MP3), as MP3, or as an iPhone ringtone (M4R), which can be at most 40 seconds. Cutting runs in your browser, so your recordings are never uploaded.

When to use Audio Cutter

  • Make a ringtone from your favourite part of a song.
  • Cut a voice note or recording down to the important part.
  • Take a short sample of music for a video, presentation or reel.
  • Remove silence or chatter from the start and end of a recording.

How to use Audio Cutter

  1. Add your audio. Drop an MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC or other audio file into the box above; the first 30 seconds are selected.
  2. Set the start and end. Type the times, drag the sliders, or play the file and use Set to current time. Add fades if you like.
  3. Cut and download. Click Cut audio, listen to the result and download it.
