About Merge Video

Join several clips into one video in the order you set. Videos from the same phone or camera are joined in seconds without losing quality; mixed sizes and formats are fitted to one frame size and saved as MP4.

How Merge Video works

Merge Video joins up to 10 videos end to end, in the order you arrange them. When every clip has the same format, frame size and codecs — typical for videos from one phone or camera — they are joined without re-encoding, which takes seconds and keeps the exact quality.

Mixed clips are fitted into one frame size (the first video's, or 1080p or 720p in its orientation) with black bars instead of stretching, set to one frame rate, and re-encoded as an H.264 MP4. Clips without sound get silence so the sound stays in sync. Everything runs on your device, so re-encoding long videos takes a while.

When to use Merge Video

  • Join the clips of an event, trip or function into one video to share.
  • Combine the parts of a recording that your phone split into several files.
  • Put an intro and an outro around your main video.
  • Stitch short clips together for a reel, status or presentation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I merge a portrait and a landscape video?

Yes. The frame follows the first video's shape, and the other video gets black bars so nothing is stretched.

How many videos can I merge?

Up to 10 at a time.

Are my videos uploaded?

No. They are joined in your browser and never leave your device.

Is Merge Video free?

Yes. Merge Video on DocEpic is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how often you use it. The site is supported by ads.

Are my files safe with Merge Video?

Yes. Merge Video runs entirely in your web browser, so your files never leave your device and are never uploaded to us.

Do I need to install any software?

No. Merge Video works in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPhone.

Is there a file size limit?

Files up to 1024 MB are accepted. Because the work happens on your device, very large files depend on your device's memory.
