About Rotate Video
Fix a video that was filmed sideways or upside down: turn it right or left by 90° or by 180°, and mirror it if it came from a front camera. The preview turns as you choose, and the sound is kept as it is. Works in your browser.
How Rotate Video works
Rotate Video turns every frame with FFmpeg's transpose filter — 90° right, 90° left or 180° — and can mirror the picture left to right or flip it upside down. The video is re-encoded as H.264, its old rotation tag is cleared so players don't turn it twice, and the sound is copied unchanged.
The preview turns as you pick an option. Everything runs in your browser with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly.
When to use Rotate Video
- Fix a phone video that plays sideways on a computer or TV.
- Turn a portrait video into landscape, or the other way round.
- Un-mirror a selfie video so the text in it reads correctly.
- Correct an upside-down clip from a dash cam or action camera.

Frequently asked questions
Why does rotating take a while?
Every frame has to be redrawn, which takes time in a browser. A 1-minute 1080p video takes a few minutes on a laptop.
Is my video uploaded?
No. It is rotated in your browser.
Is Rotate Video free?
Yes. Rotate Video on DocEpic is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how often you use it. The site is supported by ads.
Are my files safe with Rotate Video?
Yes. Rotate Video runs entirely in your web browser, so your files never leave your device and are never uploaded to us.
Do I need to install any software?
No. Rotate Video works in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPhone.
Is there a file size limit?
Files up to 1024 MB are accepted. Because the work happens on your device, very large files depend on your device's memory.
